Back in 2017 I made that jump and purchased the lease and became a business owner, rather than working for another salon in the Portishead area. Previously to taking on my own salon I worked for the legendary Jean May’s for 7 years. There I received various extra training including some from Trever Sorbie and in previous salons training by Lee Stafford. I have been in the Hair Industry from the age of 19 and I have worked from the reaches of Blackpool across to Peterborough down to Weston super and the Bristol and Bath areas. Meticulous and cautious I believe myself to be a well-rounded hairdresser that admittedly is not fond of ‘up do’s’. known to dabble with furniture and a paint brush I also like to Knit or Crochet as I find it very therapeutic, unless the cats decide to play with the wool, they keep me on my toes.

I started out in the Hair Industry at 20 and love it. A passion for creating different styles alongside daring colour combinations. With a passion for curly hair, I trained to be a curly hair specialist for men as well as women and started my personnel mission to tame the frizzy heads of the South and South West. I went on to have my own business within the centre of Bath for a decade before moving down to the South Coast to Brighton where I met my now husband, James. 2020 Saw my return to the Bristol area and my position within Hot Heads Hair Design with Simon, a good friend of some 15 years. I am a self-confessed foodie, cooking as well as eating I also enjoy keeping fit at the Gym, holidays and my adorable Boston Terrier Cross, Loki.

Since I can remember, I have always wanted to be a hairdresser. The styles, the fashion, the colours and making people feel great about themselves. I started to train after school at 17 and before I could finish my course the eldest of 2 daughters was born. My career swiftly took a change for motherhood and I loved every minute of it but i still wanted something for me. When the apples of my eye were old enough, I went back to college and picked up my ambition where I was fortunate to get a role here with Simon allowing me to use my skills taking these out onto the salon floor. It took 18 months and a lot of persistence and perseverance, but assistant I am no longer! I am now the new stylist within the salon and I love every minute of it. Simon and Jay are brilliant and have encouraged and coached me a lot plus every day is relaxed with good banter and a really enjoyable and fun atmosphere.
